Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair equipment used in turning recycled paper into corrugated boxes. The role focuses on electrical systems, machinery uptime, and hands-on mechanical tasks in a production setting.

Ideal candidates will troubleshoot 3-Phase power, drive systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic components while reading schematics and using basic measurement tools.

Qualifications

Experience repairing industrial equipment and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Able to read schematics and use multimeters.
Physical ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair machinery converting recycled paper into boxes.
Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs to minimize downtime.
Read a tape measure and apply basic math for setup and alignment.
Adhere to safety standards and operate equipment with proper PPE.

What do Maintenance Technicians do at Pratt Industries?

These skilled multi-craft professionals are crucial to the safe and effective operations of this facility. Our Maintenance Technicians maintain and repair the machinery involved in turning recycled paper into the 2-D version of a corrugated box and getting them to our customers! Think boxes for Domino’s pizzas, moving with Home Depot, Amazon deliveries, Hello Fresh meals, and more! (And yes, we make those!)

What experience and skills are required?

Troubleshooting of 3-Phase power/electricity
AC/DC Motors and Motor Starters
Gearboxes/Gear Reducers
Basic working knowledge of PLCs
Basic working knowledge of VFDs
Hydraulics
Pneumatic Systems

Top candidates will possess the following Skills/Experience

Experience with electrical instrumentation
Ability to get online to troubleshoot logic controllers/VFDs
Boiler/Steam
Welding/Fabricating
