Job summary

  • Experience in a cGMP/regulated environment is desirable.
  • Willingness to mentor entry-level technicians and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment.

  • Contribute to root-cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment issues.

Maintenance Technician 3

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at our facility. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and autonomy compared to a lower level maintenance technician, with a focus on complex troubleshooting, repairs, continuous improvement, and mentoring.

Primary Duties
  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols.
  • Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience with intermediate to advanced‑level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electro‑mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Associate’s degree preferred with experience in electro‑mechanical, high‑speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working in a cGMP/Regulated environment desired.
  • Able to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLC’s, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems desired.
  • Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus.
  • Basic Computer Skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Domestic travel required: 0% of time.
  • International travel required: 0% of time.
Additional Position Information
  • Direct support of high-speed automated process equipment operating on a 24/7 2-2-3 schedule.
  • Minimum of 100 million medical devices manufactured annually.
  • +/- 400,000 devices manufactured per business day.

The estimated salary range for this role is between $28.00-$41.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
