Job summary

Oceans Owners Council is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to service multifamily condo units and other property structures in our Virginia locations. The role requires responding promptly to after-hours issues during on-call rotations and executing a range of repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in commercial high-rise buildings, and the ability to communicate professionally with residents

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Three or more years working experience in commercial high-rise buildings.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC.
• Understanding of appliance, electrical and plumbing repair.
• Ability to professionally communicate with residents, co-workers, and management.
• Available for on-call emergency calls during the night and weekends.
• Reliable transportation, cell phone, and a valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 50lbs or above regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintains multifamily condo units and other property structures to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions and needed repairs
• Performs minor electrical repairs (e.g. repair/replacement of wall switches and outlets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, replacement of incandescent and fluorescent bulbs)
• Performs minor plumbing repairs (e.g. replacement or repairs of leaks in drains, faucets, unclogging of drains, replacement of washers and hoses)
• Performs painting, carpentry (e.g. hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.)
• On-call Service Rotation
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor

Skills in areas such as plumbing, grounds upkeep, carpentry, painting, and janitorial and electrical services.

Participate in “on-call” rotation, as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor. Prompt and courteous response to after-hours issues is required.

Accept other responsibilities and assignments from Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager, on an as-needed basis.
