National Property Management Associates, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Plano, TX. The role handles routine maintenance, repairs, and ground upkeep to keep buildings and common areas in good condition.

You will respond to service requests, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances, and assist with turnovers for new residents while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of apartment maintenance or related experience preferred.
  • HVAC systems (EPA certification required).
  • Plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Appliance repair.
  • Drywall and painting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartments, common areas, and property grounds.
  • Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry issues.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents (turnovers/make-readies).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and maintain records.
  • Maintain pools, fitness centers, and other community amenities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance calls, including after-hours rotation.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance shop organization.

Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Property Manager & Maintenance Lead


Location: Plano, TX


Unit Count: 140


Salary: $23.00 per hour (Subject to adjustment for onsite living)


Housing Benefit: 50% rent discount for onsite living


MUST be HVAC Certified


Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure buildings, apartments, and common areas are in good working condition. This role involves responding to service requests, troubleshooting issues, completing repairs related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, appliances and ensuring the grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. This role supports resident satisfaction by responding promptly to service requests.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of:

    • HVAC systems (EPA certification required)

    • Plumbing and electrical systems

    • Appliance repair

    • Drywall and painting



  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Good customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions

  • Valid driver's license


Physical Requirements


  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and materials

  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and small parts
