Job summary

The Jet Container Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repair on assembly lines, corrugated machines (McKinley, Flexo), and warehouse equipment. The role supports maintenance and reliability objectives while ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.

You will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (corrugated/packaging background preferred).
• Proficiency with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Technical certifications in electrical or mechanical fields preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on corrugated machinery and support equipment.
• Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of equipment failures.
• Monitor safety features and ensure proper usage by operators.
• Communicate with production staff to maintain operational efficiency.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance runs and inspections.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and new purchases when appropriate.
• Provide reports on equipment issues to Maintenance/Plant Managers.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Maintain the Maintenance Storage Room inventories and purchasing activities.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Maintenance Direct Supervisor: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

This position performs maintenance and repair work on assembly lines, corrugated machines (McKinley, Flexo, etc.), and warehouse equipment and fixtures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on corrugated machinery and support equipment.
• Oversee all repairs and troubleshooting of equipment failure
• Monitor to make certain that safety features on equipment are used properly
• Communicate with production staff to maintain the efficiency of operations
• Establish schedules/ perform preventive machine maintenance
• Recommend equipment upgrades, improvements, and/ or new purchases
• Provide reports for the Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager concerning any equipment-related issues that may interfere with plant operations
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Manage the Maintenance Storage Room inventories and purchasing activities to ensure the highest level possible of planning effectiveness
• Conduct a selective monthly inventory of parts and supplies, and compare with the computerized inventory
• Order parts and supplies and oversee barcode scanning of parts inventory
• Problem-solve and address operational troubleshooting questions as they arise
• Other maintenance or general labor duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (corrugated/packaging background preferred).
• Proficiency with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• PLC experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Technical certifications in electrical or mechanical fields preferred, but not required
