Confidential Beverage Manufacturer in the Indianapolis area is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance technicians, drive reliability, and balance urgent repairs with planned work. You will develop technicians, oversee daily activities, and foster a proactive maintenance culture to support dependable production.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, safety training, and collaboration with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to maintain food-safe operations.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of post-high school education or technical training.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems, hydraulics, and production equipment.
• Ability to organize workloads, guide technicians, and communicate priorities across departments.
• Willingness to support weekend and holiday work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance technicians, assign work orders, and set safety/quality expectations.
• Coordinate breakdown response while ensuring preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs.
• Plan upcoming work around technician availability and production schedules.
• Apply root cause analysis to reduce recurring failures and downtime.
• Coach and develop technicians through feedback, instruction, and safety training.
• Track maintenance performance and complete work orders to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support spare parts availability and maintenance storeroom practices.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to ensure food safety and dependable operations.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors while ensuring site safety.
• Manage small maintenance and capital projects, including scheduling and cost tracking.

We are recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor for a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Indianapolis area.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys developing technicians, improving equipment reliability, and supporting efficient production. You'll oversee daily maintenance activities, balance urgent repairs with planned work, and help build a proactive maintenance culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead maintenance technicians, assign work orders, and establish clear expectations for safety, quality, and performance.

Coordinate breakdown response while ensuring preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs are completed.

Plan upcoming work around technician availability, equipment priorities, and production schedules.

Use root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods to resolve recurring failures and reduce unplanned downtime.

Coach and develop technicians through performance feedback, technical instruction, and safety training.

Track maintenance performance and work order completion to identify improvement opportunities.

Support spare parts availability and effective maintenance storeroom practices.

Partner with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to support food safety and dependable operations.

Coordinate contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with site safety requirements.

Manage smaller maintenance and capital projects, including scheduling, resource coordination, and cost tracking.

Maintain maintenance records and support established quality management standards.

Required Qualifications

Five to seven years of relevant maintenance experience.

At least two years of education beyond high school through college or technical school.

Strong working knowledge of PLCs, industrial control networks, electrical systems, hydraulics, and production equipment.

Ability to organize maintenance workloads, guide technicians, and communicate priorities across departments.

Ability to coordinate contractors, project schedules, and related expenses.

Strong problem-solving, planning, coaching, and communication skills.

Flexibility to support weekend and holiday work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of maintenance experience in beverage, food processing, dairy, or brewing.

Associate degree in a technical discipline or relevant trade school training.

Experience in a proactive maintenance environment with structured planning and scheduling.

Direct experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

Familiarity with beverage processing, filling, and packaging equipment.

Approximately 75% of this role is spent in the manufacturing environment and 25% in an office setting. Hearing protection is required in designated areas. Occasional outdoor maintenance work may involve exposure to hot or cold temperatures.
