Job summary

You will oversee preventive maintenance, manage budgets, and coordinate external contractors to keep HVAC, boilers, water systems, and generators running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or long-term care maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lead a maintenance team and coordinate contractors.
• Knowledge of HVAC, boilers, water systems, and emergency systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgeting and supply ordering.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance operations: hire, train, and supervise maintenance team members.
• Promote safety and compliance: conduct and document fire system inspections and coordinate monthly fire drills.
• Oversee preventive maintenance: develop and implement a preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain equipment: inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, laundry equipment, and generators.
• Manage supplies & budget: order maintenance supplies and equipment while adhering to budget guidelines.
• Supervise contractors: oversee and coordinate work by external contractors.
• Maintain standards: ensure the facility and its equipment are safe, operational, and compliant with regulations.
• Train staff: provide job-specific training and promote adherence to safety procedures.
• Coordinate schedules: plan department staffing according to census needs and labor budgets.
