Job summary

Pilgrim in Marshalltown, IA seeks a HOT SIDE Maintenance Supervisor to lead the 3rd shift, prioritize work orders and coordinate maintenance across mechanical, electrical and safety tasks.

You will ensure equipment reliability, manage spares, participate in HAZMAT readiness, and report to Plant Engineer. A high school diploma and strong English communication are required, with prior maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; college experience recommended.
• 5+ years of maintenance/mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to work 40+ hours, including 3rd shift.
• Must communicate in English, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions essential.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics by urgency.
• Monitor production areas to ensure equipment operation.
• Perform skilled maintenance incl. construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing, hydraulics.
• Adjust, repair and replace electrical/electronic equipment.
• Participate in HAZMAT team and promote safety.
• Complete payroll paperwork and attend scheduled meetings.

General Description:

Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics according to immediacy and necessity of orders. Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing and hydraulics. Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment. Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations. Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance. Arrange for completion of required paperwork, such as payroll. Attend meetings as scheduled or called.

Required skills:

• Work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant.
• Be able to communicate verbally and in written form in English
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the building, mechanical and electrical trades.
• Previous mechanical and related experience required.
• Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Perform other duties as assigned
