Job summary

Peco-Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the upkeep and adjustment of processing plant equipment, ensuring maximum production and minimal downtime. The role requires directing hourly mechanics, assigning tasks, and issuing work orders while coordinating with production teams on flow and safety compliance.

You will oversee daily staffing, attendance reporting, and payroll integration, with authority to hire or terminate on the shift.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of supervisory experience in poultry processing plant maintenance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use various computer applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and adjustment of plant equipment to maximize production and minimize downtime.
• Assign maintenance employees to production line jobs as needed and ensure on‑time start‑up.
• Issue work orders for all maintenance staff on shift.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production to meet quality goals.
• Enforce safety rules; conduct safety meetings and train employees.
• Prepare staffing, attendance, and payroll reports daily.
• Direct hourly maintenance staff and respond to production flow issues.
• Handle hiring and firing authority; other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

Job description

Supervises the maintenance and adjustment of all equipment in the Processing Plant to maximize production and minimize downtime; may perform some maintenance as needed.

• Responsible for on-time production start-up of assigned shift.Checks machinery for proper performance. Assign maintenance employees to production line jobs when needed.
• Supervises hourly mechanics.

a. Issues work orders to all Maintenance Department personnel of assigned shift.

c. Has hiring and firing authority.

d. Does a daily staffing report.

e. Does a daily attendance report and turns it into Payroll.

f. Directs the activities of hourly Maintenance employees.

• Works with all production personnel on equipment and production flow issues.Monitors downtime and chain speed.
• Enforces safety rules; identifies and corrects safety hazards.Hold safety meetings with employees.Trains employees on safe job procedures.Investigate accidents and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrences.
• Coordinates all maintenance activities with the department to ensure all production and quality goals are met and to solve production and personnel problems.
• Other jobs or duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager.Directly supervises all hourly Maintenance mechanics on assigned shift.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must have the ability to work under pressure.Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all department supervisors.Must be able to work long hours and over five days a week.Must be capable of going to any area in the Processing Plant.Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
