Job summary

Ilocatum in St. Charles, IL is seeking a 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team in installing, repairing, and maintaining critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse to keep production running at peak performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required or equivalent combination
• Experience training, coaching, or mentoring others, or managing a process/project
• Ability to lead troubleshooting on high-level process issues
• Food manufacturing or similar industry background
• Strong electro‑mechanical skillset and root cause analysis background
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repairs
• Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures
• Supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation
• Schedule maintenance in collaboration with Production
• Develop and implement maintenance systems (Preventive/Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs)
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and process issues
• Develop and track KPIs for maintenance performance (supplier, contractor, equipment reliability, OEE)
• Ensure maintenance compliance with USDA regulations
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inventory records
• Coach and develop team members

• Strong electro‑mechanical skillset and root cause analysis background
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice to Have:

• Ammonia refrigeration background
• Advanced technical skills in refrigeration, high‑pressure boilers, compressed air, PLCs, and instrumentation
• Resource planning experience in a large manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of maintenance/scheduling software and TPM systems
• Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, change management, delegation)

Compensation and Benefits:

$80,000 - $100,000 Per Year plus bonus, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
