Job summary

Bluepeak in Stillwater, OK is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing the fiber telecom network. The role focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and timely service delivery across the North Oklahoma Region.

You will supervise fault isolation, fiber restoration, and plant maintenance, while training staff and enforcing operational policies. Evening, weekend, and on-call hours may be required to meet demand.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience and related Associate’s degree or equivalent training.
  • Lineman's vocational course highly preferred.
  • Must pass drug test (safety sensitive role).
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians to maintain, service and repair the network.
  • Supervise troubleshooting and repair of demark and mainline fiber issues.
  • Oversee fiber plant restoration including main line fiber up to 144 fibers and associated cabinets.
  • Coordinate with supervisor to optimize coverage and priorities for maintenance and repairs.
  • Mentor technicians and stay updated with current telecom tech trends.
  • Develop and administer operations policies and perform regular quality audits.
  • Communicate with customers, management, and partners to ensure service quality.

Overview of the Position Responsibilities: The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of Maintenance Technicians to maintain, service and repair Bluepeak's telecommunication network and components. If this sounds exciting, please read on.

What You Will Do:

  • Supervises trouble-shoot and repair demark and mainline fiber problems with maintenance technicians to ensure compliance with company guidelines regarding quality, safety, and adherence to company fiber designs.
  • Demonstrates mastery of all required test equipment and engineering cut sheets; OTDRs, fiber splicers, fiber assignments and cut sheets.
  • Supervises fiber plant restoration including main line fiber up to 144 count fiber splicing, aerial fiber plant, underground fiber plant, and all associated plant LCP/OLT cabinets.
  • Works with technician supervisor to ensure coverage is at a maximum during peak hours to maintain prompt service; coordinates with technician supervisor to set priorities for plant routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Assists in the training and development of maintenance technicians and keeps abreast of the most current technology in the telecommunications industry.
  • Assists in developing, recommending, and administering technical operations policies and procedures and maintains regular plant quality audits for compliance.
  • Coordinates with corporate trainers to help establish company training guidelines for fiber maintenance technicians.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, management, employees, and maintenance service partners (contractors).
  • Assists in the development and management of operations emergency repair budget in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Highschool or GED is required.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and working knowledge of the operation are required.
  • 2+years of experience and related Associate’s degree (or equivalent in training and experience) is preferred.
  • Attended an accredited vocational lineman’s course.
  • MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, OneNote.
  • Ability to use assigned test equipment including but not limited to signal level meter (SLM), leakage detector, volt ohm meter, sweep receiver, underground locater, OTDR, and fusion splicers.
  • Ability to accurately maintain records, logs, reports, work orders, etc.
  • Proven experience with building and developing teams, measuring performance, and driving employee engagement.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Adept at identifying potential project roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in changing and/or challenging situations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required including evenings, weekends and on-call shifts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass an MVR.
  • Ability to work while standing most of the time.
  • Ability to walk or work over all types of terrain, in all types of weather.
  • Ability to carry tools and equipment including gaffs, ladders, tool belts.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces while bending, twisting and reaching.
  • Ability to climb poles using gaffs hooks and climbing belts.
  • Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder (approx. 28' & 75lbs).
  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires.
  • Ability to perform work in elevated places (i.e., roofs and utility poles).
  • Ability to use drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers and other hand tools.
  • Ability to work with small components.
  • Ability to use close vision, peripheral vision and adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in poorly vented areas such as attics, in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to move, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, push, and grasp.
  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds.
  • Physically able to operate computer equipment and test equipment.
  • Ability to work in environments that may have dust, dirt, noise, insects and cleaning solutions.
  • Ability to work safely near power lines and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to drive Company vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to meet the physical limit requirements of personal protective equipment, aerial lift equipment, ladders and/or gaffs that may be used in this position.
  • This is a safety sensitive role and as such all candidates must pass a drug test, inclusive of marijuana, regardless of medical marijuana license status.
