Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a hands-on maintenance team in a high-volume manufacturing plant. You will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and HVAC systems, and ensure GMP compliance to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, a strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical systems, and experience with CMMS and maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily maintenance meetings to set the work schedule.
• Repair and maintain machines and equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and propane gas systems.
• Strong knowledge of injection/blow molding machinery.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform building maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, masonry.
• Maintain HVAC, water treatment systems, pumps, and air compressors.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance and complete required paperwork.
• Supervise receipt, unloading, and transfer of resin.
• May perform mold changes.

What You'll Do:The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of production equipment and facility systems. This includes troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems, conducting building and grounds maintenance, and ensuring compliance with GMP guidelines. The role also includes supervising maintenance personnel, maintaining documentation of repairs and preventive maintenance, and overseeing the receipt and handling of resin materials. This position requires hands-on technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the physical capability to handle medium-duty tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Attend daily maintenance meetings to determine the work schedule
• Perform repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment, including pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and propane gas systems
• Strong working knowledge of injection/blow molding machinery.
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize production downtime
• Conduct building maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, and masonry
• Perform other building and grounds duties (e.g., recycling, cleaning, insect/rodent control)
• Maintain HVAC, vacuum, water treatment systems, water pumps, and air compressors
• Document equipment repairs, cleaning, preventive maintenance, calibrations, and complete all required paperwork
• Ensure compliance with facility GMP guidelines
• Supervise the receipt, unloading, and transfer of resin from tank wagons and/or railcars
• May perform mold changes (e.g., remove, replace with new mold, hook up, check head, tooling, set downstream)
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

What You'll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ or more years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Understanding of specifications, blueprints, manuals, and mechanical drawings
• Ability to apply logical reasoning to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
