Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance operations, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company standards. This role combines hands‑on aircraft maintenance responsibilities with leadership duties, including supervising technicians, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring operational readiness of aircraft.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Performs regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft as needed.
  • Ensures proper working condition of mechanical systems prior to flight.
  • Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of aircraft maintenance technicians.
  • Assigns work, sets priorities, and monitors progress to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Reviews and ensures accuracy of maintenance records, repairs, inspections, and related documentation.
  • Inspects aircraft components, including engines, wings, propellers, and structural systems, to identify defects, corrosion, or wear.
  • Ensures compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel, including troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
  • Consults maintenance manuals and technical data to verify proper repair procedures and specifications.
  • Installs, repairs, or replaces defective or worn components to maintain or enhance aircraft performance.
  • Oversees sheet metal repairs and structural work as required.
  • Ensures proper function of engines and systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing procedures.
  • Coordinates with pilots, crew, and other departments to address maintenance discrepancies and operational concerns.
  • Collaborates with airframe and power plant (A&P) mechanics and other personnel to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Monitors inventory levels, tools, and equipment; coordinates procurement of parts and supplies as needed.
  • Promotes and enforces safety practices and a culture of compliance within the maintenance team.
  • Assists with training, mentoring, and performance management of maintenance staff.
  • Supports scheduling, including AOG (Aircraft on Ground) response and after‑hours maintenance as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
  • Experience – 3‑5 years of Maintenance Technician experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in Part 135, Part 145, or FBO/MRO operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in hangars, on airport ramps, and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels, aviation fuels, oils, chemicals, and other hazardous materials; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in awkward positions while inspecting and repairing aircraft.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
  • Visual acuity required to inspect aircraft components for defects, including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts as required to support operations.
  • Work may require extended hours to meet operational demands, including unscheduled maintenance events (AOG situations).
