Job summary

Channell is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in North Las Vegas, NV to lead all plant maintenance and facility support activities. This role emphasizes safety leadership, customer relations, staff development, budgeting, and cost control.

Responsibilities include directing a 3-shift operation, reading schematics, coordinating training, and managing contractors to implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.

Qualifications

• 6 years minimum experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in an injection molding environment.
• Minimum 4 years in a manager role with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment maintenance (hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, etc.).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and vacuum systems.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and OSHA requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance staff to support a 3-shift / 7-day operation.
• Read hydraulics, electrical, and building trade schematics.
• Oversee training within the department (onboarding, skills training, external training).
• Manage outside contractors and preventive maintenance system.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, direction, coordination and performance of all assigned plant maintenance and facility support activities. This includes “Safety First” program leadership, customer relations, employee development, staffing, policy implementation / enforcement, budget preparation and cost control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to effectively manage maintenance staff to support and address a 3-shift / 7-day operation
• Ability to read hydraulic, electrical, and building trade schematics
• Must have strong Hands-on teamwork skills and perform maintenance duties as required
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and related Maintenance Reporting and control software
• Responsible for all training within the department, to include:
  • New employee training (onboarding)
  • Skills training to improve each mechanic’s knowledge
  • Set-up and manage outside training to improve the team’s abilities
  • All other training is required for the department to function properly
• Ability to manage outside building trades/contractors in an effective and efficient manner
• Plan, coordinate and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance system and maintain detailed reports within the system
• Ability to coach, develop and exercise effective priorities and decisions with maintenance staff
• Ability to evaluate, assess and exercise good judgment in the scheduling of resources and maintenance staff

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools
• Good understanding of quality and safety practices

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking (up to continuously); speaking/verbal communication, bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds (frequently).

Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
