Job description

Overview

Stryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable and effective execution of maintenance activities for the Milwaukee manufacturing operation. This role provides direct leadership to maintenance technicians, ensures high-quality repair and preventive maintenance execution, and drives accountability for equipment condition, recurring failure elimination and timely response to production needs.

A key expectation of this role is to help transition the maintenance organization from reactive breakdown response to a planned, preventive and reliability focused maintenance system. The Maintenance Supervisor partners closely with the Maintenance Planner, Engineering, Operations, Safety and Production Control to improve equipment uptime and restore critical equipment to OEM or established operating condition.

Responsibilities

Essential functions

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching and accountability for maintenance personnel, including work assignment, shift coverage, training, performance management and development.
  • Maintain strong floor presence and ensure maintenance resources are focused on the highest safety, quality and production priorities.
  • Lead safe and timely troubleshooting and repair of production and facility equipment. Verify repairs are complete, technically sound and equipment is returned to a safe and reliable operating condition before closeout.
  • Own execution quality for preventive and predictive maintenance. Partner with the Maintenance Planner to improve PM content, frequency and scope based on equipment failures, inspections and maintenance history.
  • Drive elimination of recurring equipment failures through structured root cause analysis, corrective actions and verification of effectiveness. Escalate chronic or technically complex issues to Engineering with clear failure history and supporting information.
  • Lead equipment restoration activities to return neglected or degraded equipment to OEM, design or established operating condition, including identification of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls and safety-system deficiencies.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians properly document work performed, failure modes, parts used, follow-up work and equipment condition in the applicable CMMS or maintenance system.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Planner on weekly maintenance scheduling, backlog priorities, planned shutdown work, parts requirements and work-order readiness. The Supervisor owns execution and technician accountability; the Planner owns preparation, scheduling and system coordination.
  • Support development and maintenance of critical spare parts requirements by identifying equipment risk, failure history and technical requirements. Ensure newly installed or modified critical components are communicated for system and spare parts updates.
  • Ensure current electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic documentation is used when available and that equipment modifications or field changes are communicated for documentation updates.
  • Establish effective shift handoffs, off shift maintenance coverage and escalation expectations for the 24/7 operation. Respond to critical plant emergencies as required.
  • Ensure safety critical equipment devices, including interlocks, alarms, emergency stops and protective systems, are maintained and periodically verified in accordance with plant standards and applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations and Production Control to minimize production disruption and ensure clear communication of equipment status, expected repair timing and operational risks.
  • Manage outside contractors when required and verify work is completed safely, to scope and to applicable plant standards.
  • Support maintenance cost control by managing labor utilization, overtime, contractor use and repair decisions while balancing safety, reliability and production requirements.
  • Participate in daily and weekly operating reviews and communicate major equipment losses, recurring failures, maintenance priorities, risks, corrective actions, owners and due dates.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, capital projects and commissioning activities in partnership with Engineering and other plant functions.
  • Ensure compliance with Company requirements, OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures and applicable environmental and safety standards. Maintain clean and orderly maintenance work areas.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.

  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment reliability improvement and CMMS/work-order systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technicians through breakdown response while also driving permanent corrective actions and prevention of recurrence.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing required. Injection molding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
