Position Summary
Develop and manage maintenance team. Ensure machines, buildings, and grounds are fit for the purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Oversee the activities required to meet all sanitation, safety, and maintenance standards.
Essential Functions And Related Responsibilities
- Supervise daily plant maintenance activities to efficiently allocate resources and coordinate workflow based on product queues, equipment, and personnel availability.
- Review and analyze production and maintenance reports, equipment maintenance trends, and develop improved maintenance methods to increase efficiency and reduce downtime and failures.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, rules, regulations, and reporting requirements related to safety, health, performance standards, operating procedures, processes, and training.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, providing technical support and direction for maintenance staff.
- Maintain critical repair parts inventory levels and outside service agreements.
- Review maintenance and calibration records to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Implement and monitor employee training progression.
- Supervise daily departmental activities, including instructing, monitoring, and training employees, managing attendance, staffing, and operations within production standards.
Job Qualifications
- At least 15 years' experience in a maintenance role, preferably in food manufacturing.
- At least 10 years' experience leading maintenance teams.
- Experience establishing maintenance policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of quality systems and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate across departments and with customers.
- High attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and statistical software.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- 15+ years in manufacturing or maintenance management.
- Experience developing preventive maintenance and safety programs.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 20+ years' electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Physical Demands
- Average visual and hearing acuity.
- Average muscular action and body movement.
- Prolonged walking and standing.
- Lifting of 30 lbs or more.
Work Environment
Moderate noise levels, occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particulates, activity near moving equipment, and prolonged exposure to heat or cold.
