Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Jackson, MS is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day and strategic maintenance of facility components and potentially the transportation fleet. The role focuses on controlling costs while delivering reliable equipment uptime and strong safety practices.

The position requires hands-on leadership, experience with warehouse equipment and refrigeration systems, and the ability to manage internal staff and external contractors while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus a minimum of 2 years experience in warehouse equipment and refrigeration maintenance.
• 4-year degree in business management or related field a plus.
• If maintaining the centers fleet, must have a High school diploma plus a 4-year degree, 3 years experience in tractor/trailer/warehouse equipment/refrigeration maintenance; or a high school diploma plus 5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance.
• Follow-up on all warranty issues and lease issues through distribution services and the manufacturers.
• Oversee and coordinate all building maintenance projects, upgrades, new construction, repairs, additions, security-related matters, and all equipment monitoring and control.
• Manage the day to day performance of third-party contract maintenance providers for both transportation and warehouse equipment and for building maintenance.
• Work closely with the Transportation and Warehouse Managers to ensure their departmental needs are met.
• Responsible for the profit and loss budget, including maintenance, parts purchases, and renovations as applicable.
• Manage all personnel in the maintenance department including hiring, handling personnel issues, reviewing performance, conducting training and coaching sessions, and termination if necessary as applicable.
• Manage regulatory compliance for distribution center.

JOB SUMMARY

• Must have a complete understanding of license and permit requirements as well as tax issues that pertain to the fleet.

Physical Demand

Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Frequent standing and bending are required when checking equipment. You must have the ability to communicate clearly, primarily via telephone, with vendors, manufacturers, customers, and Company personnel.
