Responsibilities

• Lead engineering masterplan for the site and manage smaller capital projects.
• Oversee end-to-end capital execution: scope, budget, schedule and risk.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders inside and outside the plant.
• Lead and coach the maintenance department.
• Develop and document maintenance plans for equipment and determine parts and tooling.
• Document work using maintenance tracking systems and reports.
• Plan schedules in SAP, order parts, and manage work shifts.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns with prioritized repairs.
• Troubleshoot machine issues with internal and external support.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on equipment.
• Research and procure parts to improve equipment and resolve issues.
• Support plant production and quality as needed.
• Participate in safety meetings and uphold safety policies.
• Support for SQF 2000 and HACCP programs.
• Be part of the food safety team.

About the role

This role combines visionary leadership of engineering and maintenance functions and a hands‑on approach in a small but critical site for the business. This would be a great role for early‑career candidates with 3-8 years in manufacturing plant and who aspire to lead engineering and maintenance organizations at bigger facilities in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering masterplan for the site and execute smaller (less than $100,000) capital projects.
• End‑to‑end responsibility for capital execution (scope, budget, schedule and risk management).
• Regularly communicates to stakeholders within and outside the plant on project status.
• Lead and coach the maintenance department.
• Participate in developing and documenting maintenance plans for equipment as assigned. For example, determining work description, parts and tools required to complete plans, and how often maintenance is necessary to maintain a particular piece of equipment.
• Accurate and thorough documentation of all work performed using maintenance tracking system and/or technical reports (e.g. log books and work orders).
• Planning schedules in SAP, ordering parts, and managing work schedules.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns both major and minor events. Response includes getting a description of the issue, prioritizing the repair, and taking actions with appropriate resources.
• Resolve machine problems with effective troubleshooting using inside and outside support (e.g. parts mfg, material, mfg, machine mfg, etc.)
• Perform preventative, predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on production and facility equipment on a scheduled and/or required basis depending on the needs of the production facility.
• Research and procurement of new materials, parts and supplies to improve equipment and resolve ongoing issues. Items such as writing work orders, contacting vendors, and installing parts on the machine.
• General support of plant production and quality as assigned by Plant Leadership.
• Attend all safety meetings, report any safety incidents/accidents and understand and follow all Company and Plant Safety policies and Procedures.
• Support for the SQF 2000 System.
• Trained in the Kerry HACCP program to identify critical steps and their instructions critical to effective implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Plan.
• Participate as a member of the food safety team.

Qualifications and skills

• Engineering degree or diploma in a relevant area (e.g., mechanical, chemical, electrical) is preferred
• Previous maintenance supervisory experience preferred.
• Project management of greater than $100,000 capital preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Demonstrates communication, organization, and listening skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, neatness, and follow through.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
• Has basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Suite)

The typical hiring range for this role is $70,100 - $122,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
