Job summary

Schneider Electric in El Paso, Texas, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leader to head the maintenance department and drive TPM across the site. You will ensure uptime of critical equipment, monitor OEE and related KPIs, and lead a team focused on reliability and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong skills in electrical schematics, CMMS/MES, and cost optimization, with a focus on safety and collaboration across engineering, quality, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• +5 years of maintenance experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and maintenance best practices.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including TPM.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Background in spare parts management and maintenance cost optimization.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, and industrial controls.
• Knowledge of CMMS and maintenance planning tools.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage maintenance metrics for decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams; proficient in MES.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability, including prioritizing maintenance activities and allocating resources.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?

• Oversee and drive the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program to improve equipment reliability, availability, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
• Monitor equipment performance (OEE), KPI(s) (MTTR, MTBF…) and implement actions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Manage and develop maintenance team members through goal setting, performance management, coaching, competency development, recognition, employee engagement, and well-being initiatives.
• Monitor and optimize maintenance expenditures, including spare parts inventory management and cost control.
• Coordinate maintenance team involvement in the installation, startup, implementation, and ramp-up of new equipment, workstations, and production lines.
• Ensure business continuity by maintaining equipment readiness and supporting contingency planning for critical manufacturing operations.
• Utilize data and maintenance metrics to identify trends, prioritize actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Working Conditions

• Ability to respond to equipment emergencies outside of normal business hours as required (including weekends).
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

Required Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
• SAP PM or other maintenance management system experience.
• Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing or assembly operations.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short‑term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
