Job summary

Tootsie Roll Industries is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance and repair activities ensuring efficient confectionery production compliant with quality, safety, and cost targets.

You will plan and assign daily work, enforce policies, and drive improvements in maintenance methods, equipment, and working conditions. A related degree with 5+ years of supervisory experience in automated food manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in an automated food manufacturing environment.
• Able to work any assigned shift including weekends and overtime.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment design and fabrication including power transmission components and machine preventative maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, machine drawings and electrical diagrams and PLCs for diagnosing equipment issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with empathy and professionalism.
• Ability to plan ahead and prepare action plans to get results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and CMMS/ERP systems.
• Must pass post-offer physical, drug and background check.
