High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Our goal is to help individuals and families achieve personal change and improve their quality of life.

High Point has programs offering Section 35 services for individuals that have been civilly committed to Substance Use Treatment. Services include Acute Treatment Services (detoxification) and Clinical Stabilization Services. These programs are staff secured units, not locked.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Requirements

• 5 – 8 years facility maintenance experience;
• 3 – 5 years supervision or management experience;
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license;
• Knowledge and skills needed to provide maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs to facility utility systems (electrical, plumbing, boilers, HVAC and other plant equipment);
• Carpentry and building construction skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, 42 CFR part 2, Confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patients and HIPAA;
• Participate in and ensure compliance with SRN/HPTC Policies and Procedures;
• Ensure all codes and standards meet local, state, and federal requirements;
• Prepare for and review site visits and inspections by authorities like Joint Commission, DPH, DMH, etc., and address deficiencies;
• Develop and implement the program’s ADA/504 Self-Evaluation Plan and updates;
• Conduct emergency response trainings and drills;
• Test and inspect fire control/detection systems, ensuring documentation is current;
• Perform scheduled facility maintenance and safety inspections;
• Service and maintain emergency generator and cooling tower;
• Maintain facility grounds and amenities in safe and attractive condition;
• Perform minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems;
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment and appliances;
• Ensure security systems are functional and maintained;
• Perform minor wiring and system updates;
• Manage service contracts and verify compliance;
• Prioritize repairs and projects, schedule accordingly;
• Conduct fire and safety training;
• Manage departmental budget and inventories;
• Ensure safety data sheets are on file for chemicals;
• Handle payroll and departmental meetings;
• Participate in trainings and committee meetings;
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff;
• Be on-call 24/7;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
