Job summary

Compass Minerals seeks a Maintenance Superintendent in Lyons, KS to lead the maintenance team and drive safety, reliability and cost efficiency across the Lyons evaporation and packaging plant. You will champion safety, manage budgets, and coordinate planning, scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives with operations.

Ideal candidate brings 10+ years of maintenance leadership in manufacturing, CMMS experience, and a track record of actionable reliability improvements within a union

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, pumps, piping, steam turbines and hydraulic systems.
• Experience leading supervisors and maintenance teams in a unionized environment.
• Experience using CMMS to support maintenance planning and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the maintenance team to achieve safety, reliability, cost, productivity and engagement objectives.
• Champion safety and compliance with standards, policies and procedures.
• Establish, drive and monitor maintenance metrics (planned vs unplanned work, backlog, PM compliance, asset performance, MTBF).
• Direct reliability improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling and work execution to maximise labor efficiency and equipment availability.
• Partner with operations to improve OEE through maintenance execution and asset performance optimization.
