Job summary

ABB in Pinetops, NC seeks a Maintenance Technician to lead upkeep of equipment and production lines, optimizing technical and financial resources.

You will collaborate with engineering and management to plan maintenance for new lines, improve reliability, respond to breakdowns, and implement health, safety and environmental guidelines.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2+ years experience, data analysis, and knowledge of engineering processes; US work authorization required.

  • Knowledge of Engineering & Manufacturing Processes.
  • Planned Maintenance & Backlog and Specialist Technical & Engineering Skills.
  • Knowledge and use of tools – tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.
  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance of equipment, production lines, and facilities to optimize technical and financial resources.
  • Oversee ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities daily.
  • Manage and update technical documentation for equipment, production lines, and facilities.
  • Specify maintenance plans for new production lines with engineering and management.
  • Consult on ways to improve reliability, maintainability, and safety.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, breakdowns, and malfunctions to minimize production disruption.
  • Propose improvements for processes and lines to reduce maintenance and improve energy efficiency.
  • Implement health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Pinetops, NC.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the processes in maintaining and preserving the efficiency of all equipment, production lines, and/or facilities, resulting in the optimization of technical and financial resources. Each day, you will oversee execution of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities. You will also showcase your expertise by managing and updating technical documentation of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the engineering and management team to specify maintenance plans for new production lines.
  • Consulting on ways to improve reliability, maintainability, and safety.
  • Solving major technical, equipment or facilities challenges to achieve higher performance of the production lines.
  • Reacting promptly to any emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, or other problems to minimize disruption to production.
  • Proposing improvements for processes and production lines aimed at reducing maintenance and optimizing operational and energy efficiency.
  • Maintenance and optimizing operational and energy efficiency.
  • Implementing health, safety and environmental guidelines and directive.
Qualifications For The Role
