Job summary

Position Summary

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the assisting with the safety and operational integrity of GCC and properties, buildings and vehicle fleet.

Essential Job Functions
  • Complete maintenance and repair requests daily as requested by staff
  • Assure through regular inspections that maintenance procedures are consistently meeting health and safety standards
  • Assure through regular inspections that the facilities are operationally and structurally sound
  • Participate as requested on the environment of care, osha committees
  • Maintain facility grounds per regular schedule to assure an attractive and welcoming appearance
  • Assist with running and maintaining computer cables, phone wires, and electrical connections
  • Participate in meetings and attend trainings as required and requested.
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalence issue by a state department of education, is required.
Experience and Competencies:
  • Minimum of three years in maintenance, construction, or other related field.
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of equipment, appliances and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Physical Demands
  • Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, frequent heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files). Requires the ability to defend oneself and clients in physically abusive situations through the use of approved physical de-escalation techniques.

  • Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance.
