Job summary

The State of Louisiana seeks a skilled Maintenance Repairer 2 to maintain the Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic and Crowley Behavioral Health Clinic. Responsibilities include repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and more to keep facilities safe and functioning.

Appointment is Probational or Promotional with an 8-hour day, Monday–Friday, located in Lafayette, LA. Submit transcripts if you have a degree; 90-day hiring decision window after posting.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks across facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, etc.).
• Work under general supervision from the Facility Maintenance Manager A or designee.

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairer 2 who will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to the facilities and grounds at the Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic and the Crowley Behavioral Health Clinic. This role is essential in ensuring our equipment, building and systems operate smoothly and safety.

Qualifications

Job Duties

As a Maintenance Repairer 2, you will:

• Perform duties such as: replacement, installation or repair, modifications and preventive maintenance activities of the facility in areas including but not limited to: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, etc.
• Perform duties under general supervision from the Facility Maintenance Manager A or as assigned by direct supervisor and/or designee.

Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District – Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic in Lafayette, LA.
