The Port of South Louisiana is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Worker to support safe operation and upkeep of Port facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment. You will perform routine repairs, operate tools and equipment, and address varied maintenance needs to keep Port facilities functional.
Requirements include about one year of related experience or six semester hours in related fields; appointment is probationary for up to 24 months, with a typical 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM work schedule.
The Port of South Louisiana’s mission is to serve the maritime transportation needs of resident industry; assist resident industry in developing maritime and industrial facilities; encourage foreign and domestic investment within the River Parishes Region and Louisiana; and attract foreign and domestic cargo to the Globalplex Intermodal Terminal.
This hands-on position performs routine maintenance and repair work supporting the safe operation and upkeep of Port facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. Success requires practical repair skills, safe operation of tools and equipment, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to address varied maintenance needs. The position offers the opportunity to perform a broad range of work that directly supports the Port’s facilities and operations.
One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
