Software Placement Group is seeking a Maintenance/Reliability Manager for a chemical processing facility in Mount Pleasant, SC. This on-site, full-time role leads the maintenance and reliability team to ensure safety, uptime, and asset integrity.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years in maintenance/reliability, with CMMS experience and hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering required with 8+ years in maintenance/reliability leadership.
• Experience in PSM-regulated chemical/refinery environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance.
• Oversee execution of maintenance tasks and reliability initiatives.
• Analyze root causes and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and EHS to maximize uptime.
• Manage CMMS performance, spare parts inventory, and scheduling.
• Support capital projects, participate in design reviews, oversee new equipment installs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, API, ASME, and ISO standards.
• Lead a multidisciplinary maintenance and reliability team.
• Facilitate PHAs and implement action plans.
• Promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.

Overview

A chemical processing facility at a prime coastal location is seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance/Reliability Manager to lead its Maintenance and Reliability Team. This key role ensures the safety, efficiency, and reliability of plant operations through strategic maintenance leadership and asset integrity management.

What you'll do

• Develop and enhance preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Oversee execution of maintenance tasks and reliability projects, and monitor asset performance metrics
• Perform root cause analyses and establish long-term corrective measures to mitigate equipment failures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Procurement, and EHS to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency
• Manage CMMS performance, oversee spare parts inventory, and refine planning and scheduling systems
• Support development of capital projects, participate in design reviews, and oversee new equipment installations
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as OSHA, API, ASME, and ISO
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team focused on maintenance and reliability best practices
• Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement recommended actions
• Promote initiatives in sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost optimization

Required qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering degree with 8+ years of experience in Maintenance/Reliability Engineering, including team management, in chemical, refinery, or related PSM-regulated plants
• Demonstrated expertise in reliability systems, maintenance management, and asset lifecycle optimization
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance planning processes
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
• Able to work in the U.S. now or in the future without sponsorship
