Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Process Manager Maintenance to lead maintenance activities in our steel producing department. You will drive safety, reliability, and uptime by guiding maintenance teams and coordinating with operations and contractors.

The role requires strong leadership in a heavy industrial setting, hands-on troubleshooting, and a track record of reducing downtime. Relocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, including maintenance leadership.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and equipment reliability experience.
• Proven leadership, team-building, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be able to work safely in a heavy industrial environment, including stairs, ladders, uneven surfaces, and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operating standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to maintenance teams and skilled trades.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Lead safe execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities, including contractor work.
• Drive equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, and root cause analysis.
• Partner with operations, engineering, contractors, and vendors to coordinate maintenance priorities and repairs.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, productivity, and maintenance costs.
• Build positive relationships with the bargaining unit workforce and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
