Job summary

Household Furniture Co in Las Cruces is hiring for a housekeeping/maintenance role responsible for keeping the showroom and facilities pristine, safe, and ready for customers. You will manage cleaning tasks across all areas, assist with displays, and help with deliveries and furniture setup.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic English communication, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. A valid driver’s license is preferred for light travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all major areas of the building, showroom, office, restrooms, break room, and storage areas.
• Performs cleaning of the showroom floor daily; sweep and mop hard surfaces.
• Empty all trashcans daily or as needed with new liners.
• Recheck restrooms for touch ups as needed throughout the day.
• Organizes and maintains the storage areas within the showroom.
• Inspects the outside of the showroom to maintain an attractive appearance.
• Follows safety guidelines and reports safety concerns immediately.
• Assists with furniture assembly when needed for showroom or customer pick up.
• Opens, assembles, inspects, cleans, and loads merchandise for customer pickups.
• Receives deliveries from warehouse, Fed-Ex, UPS; coordinates with staff.
• Inspects delivered merchandise for showroom quality when unloading.
• Assists visual merchandiser with floor moves, displays, and resets.
• Hangs and removes rugs from the rack.
• Adheres to Household Furniture Company's vision and values.
• Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for the showroom’s first impression and maintaining a ‘brand new’ image and an attractive setting. This includes the cleanliness of the showroom, offices, restrooms, storage spaces of the building and the parking lot of the building. Looks for actions that can be taken to make our store clean and orderly.

Supervision Received

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Store Manager and Assistant Manager. Direction given from visual merchandiser.

Essential Functions

• Cleans all major areas of the building, showroom, office, restrooms, break room, and storage areas:
• Performs cleaning of the showroom floor on a daily basis;
• Sweep and mop hard surfaces floors;
• Empty all trashcans daily or as needed with new liners placed in the cans;
• Recheck restrooms periodically throughout the day for touch ups needed;
• Organizes and maintains the storage areas within the showroom;
• Inspects the outside of the showroom on a regular basis to maintain an attractive appearance, including the maintenance of the planters and cleanliness of parking lot;
• Follows safety guidelines and reports any safety concerns to the Store Manager immediately;
• Assists with furniture assembly when needed for the showroom or customer pick up;
• Opens, assembles, inspects, cleans, performs any minor touch up when needed prior to and loads merchandise for customer pickups;
• Receives deliveries from warehouse, Fed-Ex, UPS, etc, making sure that the Customer Care Specialists and/or visuals are made aware of delivery;
• Inspects merchandise delivered to ensure showroom quality when unloading;
• Assists visual merchandiser with floor moves, store displays and resets when necessary;
• Hangs and removes rugs from the rack;
• Adherence to and compliance with Household Furniture Company's vision and values at all times;
• Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned by the store manager.

Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills

• High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate;
• 1 year experience in a maintenance/housekeeping position is preferred but not required;
• Valid Driver’s License and a maintained clear and safe driving record, may be required to drive to another location or get supplies for the showroom;

Ability to:
