Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing equipment and facilities systems across our global PCB operations.

You will provide mechanical and electrical maintenance to ensure uptime, reliability and adherence to budgets. The role focuses on PM scheduling, troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and older control systems, and collaborating with engineering and production to drive equipment performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Two year Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical / Engineering Automation or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs and older control systems is desirable.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to read drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor and modify manufacturing equipment to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Repair hardware on process equipment, PLCs, HMIs and Computers.
• Maintain maintenance records and inventory of spare parts and supplies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve equipment issues.

The Maintenance Technician helps to maintain manufacturing equipment systems, facilities equipment systems, methods, strategies and technologies in order to produce reliable products within a reasonable schedule and budget. Provide mechanical and electrical maintenance support to ensure proper upkeep of complex equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures cost-effective installation, monitoring and modification of manufacturing equipment. Resolves problems in equipment, process, or materials as needed.
• Maintain/manage a large amount of PLC and OS backups for all Process and Facilities related equipment.
• Repair hardware on older model computers used on Process equipment and throughout the plants.
• Repair/troubleshoot issues with PLC's, HMI's and Computers used on Process Equipment.
• Interfaces with internal and external customers, suppliers, and/or equipment vendors to resolve equipment issues.
• Identifies equipment improvement opportunities and modifies equipment to reinvent improper operation.
• Performs reactive maintenance on production equipment utilizing electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical trouble shooting techniques.
• Assists in scheduling time to perform PM's on production equipment.
• Assists in development of PM schedule.
• Assists in the training of electro/mechanical technicians as needed.
• Assists in keeping accurate maintenance records and information on production and facilities equipment.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of spare parts and supplies.
• Communicate with Engineering and Production personnel to resolve equipment related process problems.
• Work hand in hand alongside Engineering resolving complex equipment issues, making modifications, etc.
• Performs PM's and responds to reactive maintenance calls on a variety of production equipment thereby keeping machines operating at peak efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings is necessary.
• Extensive knowledge with various makes/models of PLC's, able to hookup a lab top and upload/download programs is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge with various makes/models of VFD's, strong ability to program and/or alter parameters is preferred.
• Good understanding/ability on creating backups of PLC and Computer programs to store and use at a later date as needed is preferred.
• Good communication and leadership skills is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows software is preferred.
• A strong background in electrical and electronics (digital and analog), mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics is preferred.
• A strong background in using electrical test equipment, DVM, AMP meter/probe, O-scope, Megger, etc is preferred.
• Use of all types of shop equipment so the ability to weld different types of metals, different types of plastics and operate a machine mill & lathe a plus.
• Troubleshoot and upkeep of complex equipment.

Education and Experience

• Two year Associate Degree in Electro-Mechanical / Engineering Automation or Industrial Maintenance and/or equivalent skills and three years applicable experience is preferred

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
