Job summary

Dessert Holdings in Pembroke, NC is seeking a Maintenance Planner to own the maintenance planning and scheduling system and drive reliability across the plant. You will lead CMMS-related activities, manage spare parts, and collaborate with the maintenance team to reduce unscheduled downtime while ensuring food safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working with Master Data and CMMS systems.
  • Must have Mechanical and Electrical experience and understanding.
  • Must have experience Leading and owning RCA processes and systems.
  • Must have knowledge for identification of Component Failure modes and counter measure preventative maintenance tasks to prevent failure modes.
  • Ability to understand Total Cost of Ownership and ability to coach maintenance team on changes.
  • Ability to record all maintenance work within CMMS system and follow CMMS procedures.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime including weekends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
  • FEMA/RCM development and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment.
  • AIB Bakery Equipment training is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for MP&S Competency, ensuring plant standards align to Dessert Holdings.
  • Review all incoming approved work orders and ensure SIMPTWWI data on plans.
  • Maintain CMMS assets from cradle to grave, including BOMs, PMs and critical spares.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability and availability through daily direction setting.
  • Manage spare parts process and safety stock levels.
  • Create and publish the weekly maintenance work plan including standard stops.
  • Set 30/90 day actions with Maintenance Manager to meet key metrics.
  • Understand Quality Systems and SQF, HACCP and GMP practices.
  • Document all maintenance activity in CMMS and support PM program to reduce downtime.

Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team at our facility in Pembroke,NC. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for owning the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling system. You are part of the operations leadership team that is responsible for supporting and implementing change management and productivity improvements within the plant. In addition, they will be responsible for leading Maintenance standard work practices across the plant that ensure reliability, maintainability, and availability of plant resources with specific focus on overall deterioration losses to deliver the plants Compelling Business Need. The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for Dessert Holdings

The typical hiring range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually and is based on several factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc. In addition to pay, Dessert Holdings offers benefits such as a choice of comprehensive medical plans, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and retirement contribution to all eligible employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible and accountable for MP&S Competency, which includes ensuring plant standards are aligned to Dessert Holdings Standards. This includes plant utilizing CMMS system as intended including following master data standardization.
  • Reviews all incoming approved work orders and ensures that Safety, Material, People, Tools, When, Where (SIMPTWWI) are included on all job plans.
  • Ensures all Asset's within the CMMS are maintained from Cradle to Grave, and include BOMS, PMS and critical spare parts for each asset. This includes accountability for ensuring new equipment brought in follows same standards.
  • Drives improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability by ensuring focusing on plants top losses by being an active participant in Daily Direction setting meetings.
  • Accountable for spare parts process and ensure proper safety stock levels and maintenance strategies are aligned.
  • Creating and publishing the plant maintenance work plan for the week including any standard plant stops
  • Works collaboratively with Maintenance manager to set 30/90 actions to ensure Key standard metrics are met and aligned with Dessert Holdings Standards
  • Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s)
  • Will perform other duties as required by supervisor and reporting structure
  • Document all Maintenance work activity within CMMS System.
  • Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.

Required
  • 3+ industrial Mechanical experience or two-year technical degree preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English, preferred if can read, write and speak English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to successfully complete HACCP Certification
  • Must have Forklift License or able to complete required training within 90 days of hire
