Valero Energy in Memphis is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate maintenance activities, develop job and safety plans, and serve as a liaison among maintenance, engineering and operations. You will lead CMMS scheduling using SAP, prepare work scopes, estimate manpower and materials, and ensure cost-effective planning.

This position is on-site at the Memphis refinery and requires a high school diploma and 3 years of planning/maintenance experience.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of planning and/or maintenance experience in refining or related industry.
• Experience reading engineering drawings (plot plans, piping isometrics, P&IDs).
• Experience using computer-based planning and scheduling tools.

• Review and review work orders; prepare a work scope and required labor, tools, materials, and equipment.
• Estimate manpower, materials, and equipment for approved work orders.
• Prepare drawings, sketches, bid packages, specifications, and procedures to aid the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Coordinate scheduling with Maintenance, Operations, Safety and Purchasing for maximum efficiency and cost control.
• Maintain records for planning and scheduling; monitor contractor productivity.

A Maintenance Planner coordinates all maintenance activities and help develop job and safety plans to improve workforce productivity. Acts as the liaison between maintenance, engineering, and operations to ensure all work activities are planned, estimated, and scheduled. Provides leadership and guidance on effective operation of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, using the SAP system).

• Provides job plans for daily maintenance activities, prepares job packages for expense projects and provides planning assistance for emergency shutdowns.
• Receives and reviews work orders that have been authorized by the users of Maintenance services.
• Prepares a work scope and establishes the labor, tools, material, and equipment required for work orders.
• Estimates, plans, and requisitions manpower, materials, and equipment for approved work orders.
• Prepares/supplies drawings, sketches, bid packages, specifications, procedures, etc. that will aid the Maintenance Supervisor for all planned jobs.
• Maintains the records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility.
• Coordinates the scheduling of the planned work with Maintenance supervision, Operations, Safety and the Purchasing Department to achieve maximum efficiency and cost management in a proactive manner.
• Accumulates costs for reporting purposes on specific jobs.
• Assists in monitoring the productivity of contractors performing work in the refinery.
• Proficient and available to cover for Maintenance Supervisors when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Memphis Refinery, required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of planning and/or maintenance experience in refining or a related industry required.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, such as plot plans, piping isometrics, and P&IDs required.
• Experience using computer-based planning and scheduling tools required.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree in a related field preferred.
• Planning experience in refinery maintenance strongly preferred.
• Drafting experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
