Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC is seeking a maintenance lead to coach, support and develop key technical competencies of shift personnel to ensure smooth execution of manufacturing processes.

You will drive improvements in maintenance reliability, plan maintenance activities and lead condition-based and predictive maintenance initiatives, collaborating with production, reliability and metrology teams across sites. This role offers strong growth and a path to impact patient supply.

Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience driving process improvements using systematic methodologies (LEAN/Six Sigma preferred).
  • Experience creating/improving FIT/MWDs (maintenance work documents) required.
  • Knowledge of high-speed, automated systems such as Filling, Formulation, Inspection, Assembly & Packaging preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Improve MTTR for all production lines and organize parts and functional locations in SAP.
  • Improve MWDs, FITs and other maintenance standards.
  • Improve MTBF for all production lines by reviewing unplanned maintenance and updating maintenance plans.
  • Move maintenance culture toward condition-based and predictive maintenance.
  • Drive planned maintenance efficiency through MN Boards, MRP and Maintenance Review.
  • Reduce maintenance costs by acting as site liaison for OEMs and coordinating with other sites.
  • Improve stakeholder relations with production teams, maintenance planning, reliability and metrology via the NN Way.
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned.

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees.

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees. FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today which we will still be proud of 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, where you will be working with multiple sites and cultures across the world.

The Position

Coach, support & develop all necessary technical competencies of shift personnel in order to support successful execution of processes.

Relationships

Reports to Manager, Technical Support (AP or FP).

Essential Functions

Improve MTTR for all production lines by:Owning & improving organization & clarity of parts & functional locations in SAP
Improving MWDs, FITs & other Maintenance Standards
Improving MTBF for all production lines by:Reviewing unplanned maintenance & improving Maintenance Plans
Moving Maintenance Culture towards Condition Based & Predictive Maintenance
Driving Planned Maintenance efficiency through MN Boards, MRP & Maintenance Review
Reduce Maintenance Cost by:Acting as Site Liaison for OEM - including Parts Complaints, ASL agreements, coordinating with other sites & monthly meetings
Improving Stakeholder Relations with Production Teams, Maintenance Planning, Reliability & Metrology by utilizing the NN Way
Other accountabilities, as assigned

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in technical field or industry equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of seven (7) years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, or equivalent industry/military experience required
Experience driving process improvements/design using systematic methodologies. LEAN & Six Sigma strongly preferred
Experience creating/improving FIT/MWDs required
Knowledgeable in one or more of the following high-speed, automated systems: Filling, Formulation, Inspection, Assembly & Packaging preferred
Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets preferred
