The City of Cadillac is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Operator 1. This is a full-time hourly position with a comprehensive benefit package including pension, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, in addition to paid holidays, vacation, personal and sick leave.
The position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water distribution and sewer collection systems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, experience working with the public and a valid driver’s license. S-4 or D-4 certifications preferred. The successful candidate must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsement(s) within probationary period and obtain the minimum State of Michigan Water Operator certification within three (3) years of one’s eligibility to test. All licenses must be maintained throughout employment and all costs associated with the licenses are paid for by the city.
Residency within a 20-mile radius of the city limits is required within 90 days after hire. Background check, physical and drug testing required.
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri / 7am to 3:30pm, rotating on-call weekends.
Wage: $21.17 per hour.
