Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled Production Line Mechanic to support high-speed manufacturing equipment. The role involves mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on packaging lines, and performing preventive maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient.

The position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and potential 12-hour shifts, with overtime after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. A technical degree or hands-on experience is valued highly.

Qualifications

• Two years production line mechanic or technician experience preferred, or an equivalent technical degree/education.
• Experience with packaging and metal can/aluminum can equipment is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment, including drives, hydraulics and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
• Complete routine preventative maintenance safely and on time.
• Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Request design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Lead discussions with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and storage spaces.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with high-speed production line equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors).
• Working with Electrical staff, troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors and drives.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Request the design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Take lead to consult with internal resources to resolve issues and make improvements to equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter.

SHIFT

The hours are: 7pm-1am or 1am-7am on Monday, OFF Tuesday 12 hours shift Wednesday, and then Thursday and Friday or Saturday Sunday 12hr shift - 7pm - 7am. Weekends required (alternating shift, switches each week.) Shifts can also be traded with like trained teammates. We pay OT after 40 hours in a week, and Double Time after 48 hours in a week. We've never had a layoff and we are looking to add great teammates to our existing strong team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Two years previous Production Line Mechanic or Technician experience preferred, OR equivalent technical degree or education.
• Packaging and steel aerosol can or aluminum can making equipment experience is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use Maintenance Shop equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for the majority of the day and work in hot conditions, as well as crawl under lines and climb ladders.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work occasional weekends if necessary.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
