Job summary

AllSTEM Connections is seeking an Operations Technician to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems in a food manufacturing setting. You will assist with startup and operation of production lines, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of related experience, and relevant certifications; a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Two or more years of related experience in maintenance or repair.
• Equipment manufacturer certification or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance service and repairs in mechanical and electrical areas.
• Clean and lubricate equipment and parts.
• Start up and operate equipment/production lines.
• Identify and correct unsafe working conditions with supervision.
• Attend designated training programs (in person or virtual).
• Follow safety and risk management policies; report accidents promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.
• Follow OSHA and local safety requirements including SQF 2000, HACCP and GMP practices.

Job description

The operations technician will fix, maintain, and operate mechanical equipment. This individual will perform electrical repairs, maintain, and repair food manufacturing equipment and supporting equipment. In the event of an emergency, she/he may be called to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance service and repairs in one or more skill areas, including minor machine servicing, electrical repairs, or installations.
• Clean and lubricate equipment and parts.
• Ability to startup and operate equipment/production lines.
• Identify and correct unsafe working conditions, with management oversight.
• Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
• Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
• Apply all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including food safety, such as SQF 2000 and HACCP plans, as well as the GMP’s and personal practices

Education and Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of related experience.
• Equipment manufacturer certification or equivalent a plus.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• Electrical experience and/or license a plus.
• Knowledge of PLC’s low voltage and controls a plus.
• Experience in industrial building maintenance and repairs.
