Job summary

Southern Cross Care Limited in Lavington (NSW) is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to keep our residential aged care home and independent living units well-maintained. The role is based primarily at Lavington four days per week and includes one day at Palm Villa Independent Living Units, ensuring safe, comfortable living spaces for residents.

You will perform general maintenance and gardening, carry out planned preventive tasks, and respond to repairs while upholding regulatory standards

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work)
• Keeping our outdoor spaces looking their best with gardening and grounds maintenance, mowing, hedging, sweeping, hosing and general upkeep
• Completing planned preventative maintenance in line with site schedules
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests across your designated areas
• Monitoring maintenance works to ensure regulatory compliance
• Actively contributing to Work Health & Safety practices

Based primarily at our Lavington Residential Aged Care home (4 days per week) and supporting Palm Villa Independent Living Units (1 day per week), you'll play an essential role in ensuring our facilities, gardens, and living spaces are maintained to the highest standard.

What You'll Be Doing

About the Candidate

• A current driver's licence
• Basic to intermediate technology skills on a mobile, laptop and desktop
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in maintenance within retirement living or aged care (preferred)
• Background in building, plumbing, welding, fitter & turner or similar (desirable)
