Job summary

Shift & Compensation: Must be able to work 12 hour shifts night and day. Starting Pay $40.71 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of machines.
• Constructing, installing, maintaining, and removing all types of machinery and equipment used in plant operations.
• Machine shop work, tooling, pipefitting, mechanical work, carpentry, sheet metal, and rigging (must bring own basic hand tools).
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance, repair, spill containment, cleanup, and recordkeeping of environmental systems.
• Performing basic structural welding tasks as needed.
• Lubrication duties: changing or applying oils, greases, and compounds; cleaning and changing oil filters; servicing air line lubrication and filtering equipment; cleaning both inside and outside of hydraulic units and oil reservoirs; taking oil samples; repairing minor leaks.
• Set and maintain lubrication routes and schedules.
• Operate centrifuging and filtering operations (moving, setting up, operating, cleaning).
• Report to supervision any need for supplies and any unusual conditions.
• Drive company vehicles on plant property; handle necessary paperwork; keep the work area clean; report issues.
• Assist in safety and fire prevention inspections and incipient fire control.
• Work in accordance with ContiTech’s environmental policy and applicable work instructions.
• Monitor process and machine parameters during critical belt runs.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions using PLC techniques; improve plant processes through PLC program modifications.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC controls including changing fuses, coils, contacts, and relays.
• Audit machine set points and process parameters for performance to specifications.
• Verify calibration of process controllers and recorders.
• Document machine PLC programs, troubleshooting activities, and audit findings.
• Install and repair electrical equipment including switch gear, motors, starters, switches, and instruments from wiring diagrams, sketches, and instruction manuals.
• Install cable rack, cable, conduit, and pull wire.
• Maintain lighting (incandescent, fluorescent, mercury vapor fixtures); maintain motors; capable of working safely on voltages up to 480.
• Keep work area clean.
• Operate occasionally around heat, dirt, grease, oil, contact with water, etc.; work at various heights.
• High responsibility for correct analysis and quality work; improper repair leads to safety concerns, waste of time and material.
• Must furnish own basic hand tools.
• Must be capable of using standard electrical instruments such as an amp meter, voltmeter, and megger tester.
• Must be capable of reading from blueprints, sketches, and/or specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years industrial maintenance and electrical combined experience.
• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Must be able to pass the written Multi-Craft Technician test or show successful completion of a certified electronic or Multi-Craft program.
• Must have prior experience or training in industrial or major machine maintenance and/or electrical work.
• Must be able to use all types of hand and power tools and supply own set of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to climb and work in high places.
• Must be able to work independently and in a group with little supervision.
• Must be able to train others.
• Must be able to work any shift and weekends when scheduled.
• Must be willing to work on holidays.
• Experience in industrial mechanical & electrical work.
