1st Employment seeks an experienced Maintenance Millwright to support plant machinery, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a stamping and welding manufacturing setting.

The candidate will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, rig and move heavy equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while following safety policies and using proper PPE.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in stamping and welding manufacturing.
  • Valid Industrial Millwright License Certificate of Qualification 433A preferred/required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with rigging, heavy equipment handling, dismantling, and reassembly.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must have or be able to obtain common hand tools for the trade.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated plant equipment.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and communicate equipment issues to the Maintenance Manager and Team Lead.
  • Understand operation and repair of presses, welders, automated equipment, and related manufacturing machinery.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, identify spare parts, and coordinate with contractors when needed.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic schematics.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and verniers.
  • Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drills; fabricate basic parts.
  • Apply hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks (arc, TIG, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene, brazing, soldering).
  • Complete equipment overhauls and major repairs on plant machinery.
  • Safely rig, unload, dismantle, move heavy equipment; reassemble machinery.
  • Document preventive maintenance activities and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for reliability and processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety policies.

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright to support the maintenance and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working with the Maintenance Team Lead, the Maintenance Millwright will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, particularly in stamping and welding manufacturing, and be comfortable performing preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, fabrication, welding, rigging, and troubleshooting. The Maintenance Millwright will also help maintain critical spare parts, support continuous improvement efforts, and provide technical assistance to manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated plant equipment.

  • Operate power tools and machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.
  • Fabricate basic machine parts as needed.
  • Apply working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks using processes such as arc welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene welding, brazing, and soldering.
  • Complete equipment overhauls and major repairs on plant machinery.
  • Safely rig, unload, dismantle, and move heavy equipment and machinery.Dismantle equipment, identify components, repair or replace parts, and properly reassemble machinery.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance activities using both manual and computerized systems.
  • Maintain critical spare parts and support routine repair needs.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, maintenance, and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment while following all safety procedures and properly using required safety equipment.
  • Follow company quality, environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings, training, performance programs, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Industrial Millwright License Certificate of Qualification 433A preferred/required based on applicable requirements.
  • Post-secondary diploma and relevant technical experience, C.E.T., or Professional Engineering designation may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a stamping and welding manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with rigging, heavy equipment handling, dismantling, and reassembly.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience operating machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.
  • CMMS experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process flow, optimization, and manufacturing engineering is an asset.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide and receive direction while working independently when necessary.
  • Must have or be able to obtain common hand tools required for the trade.
