USDA APHIS is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the Phoenix Rearing Facility. You will oversee a complex maintenance program and supervise staff, focusing on electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry tasks to keep systems safe and compliant.
The role involves coordinating procurements, planning trades projects, and ensuring ongoing reliability of facility infrastructure and related equipment in a mission-critical insect-rearing program in Phoenix, AZ.
If selected, you will serve in the capacity of a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the Phoenix Rearing Facility (PRF) with full responsibility to carry out a complex maintenance program and supervise the work of employees assigned to the maintenance work unit. The mission of the PRF is mass rearing and release of sterile insects as part of the Navel Orangeworm (NOW) area-wide control program, and other programs or projects as directed.
To qualify, you must show you have had training and experience of sufficient scope and quality to provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Your answers to the vacancy specific questions must be supported by the work experience in your resume.
