Job description

Located along scenic waterfront property in Brooklyn, NY, our Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care has earned a reputation for providing quality and compassionate care through programs and services that support individuals needing short-stay or long-term inpatient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs preventive maintenance, routine repairs, inspections, testing, and installation tasks on building, grounds, utilities, machinery, and equipment.
  2. Performs tasks in other building crafts, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting on an as-needed basis.
  3. Inspects, tests, and troubleshoots machinery and equipment related to buildings and utilities.
  4. Records information accurately.
  5. Complies with all fire, safety, and infection control policies and procedures set forth by the facility.
  6. Reports all hazardous and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or Vocational/Technical School graduate.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in building maintenance.
  • General knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanics.
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of general mechanics and basic electricity.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturers' specifications is highly desired.
