Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Cheraw, SC is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, install and set up mechanical equipment.

You will contribute to maintenance planning, analyze technical issues, and prepare machines for operation while supporting installation projects on site. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with hands-on experience, ability to read instructions and operate complex machinery, plus strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with extensive field experience.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and identify defects.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to operate complex machinery and understand blueprints (preferred).
• Read and interpret blueprints (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, install and set up mechanical equipment, machines, tools or parts.
• Contribute to maintenance scheduling and execute maintenance assignments.
• Analyze technical issues and complete repairs with reference to electrical systems.
• Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures for operations.
• Support installation projects on site and assist Industrial Engineers.
• Ensure compliance of technical documentation for processes and equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and use PPE correctly.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, install and set up mechanical equipment, machines, tools or parts
• Contribute to planning of maintenance schedules and execute respective maintenance assignments
• Analyze technical issues, complete repairs and work orders with reference to electrical systems
• Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations
• Contribute to installation projects on site, and support accountable Industrial Engineers
• Support compliance of technical documentations for processes and equipment
• Follow all safety and production rules and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Your Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent combined with extensive work experience in this field
• Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, understand instructions and write clear communications in English
• Ability to understand and operate complex machinery
• Good visual acuity
• Ability to lift heavy objects if required
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship

Preferred:

• College or University degree in a technical discipline
• Multiple years of experience operating and handling complex machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with power tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
