RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II for per diem work at New Brunswick, NJ. The role is based in Plant Operations and requires a high school diploma with technical training or apprenticeship in building trades.

The candidate will handle light repairs, equipment maintenance, and system servicing for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related facilities. The position may involve responding to alarms and working a day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical School training or apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor-skilled repairs and adjustments for mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Replace light bulbs and fuses; replace ceiling tiles; repair or assemble furniture and doors.
• Repair faucets and plumbing fixtures; clear drains; service fixed and portable fans and air conditioners.
• Repair kitchen equipment and dishwashing machines; respond to alarms throughout the facility.
• Operate and adjust computerized systems and related equipment (e.g., Pneumatic tube system, fire alarm, chlorine systems).
• Maintain several facilities with a focus on safety and efficiency.
