NOW Health Group INC in Sparks, NV is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for the 2nd shift to repair and maintain machinery and electromechanical equipment across packaging, processing, distribution and plant infrastructure. You will diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance.

The role requires completing paperwork, supporting installation of new equipment, and adhering to safety and GMP standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or 2–5 years related experience and/or training in electrical, machine troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, lock-out/tag-out; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of electrical work, welding and machine shop required.
  • Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repair production machines and equipment across the plant and rebuild components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform repairs.
  • Operate production equipment to verify work; clean and lubricate machinery.
  • Assist with building maintenance tasks such as HVAC, housekeeping and exterior areas as needed.
  • Support installation of new equipment from drawings or instructions.
  • Complete routine paperwork and initiate purchase requests for parts and supplies.
  • Follow safety and GMP requirements.

Description

Working the 2nd shift, this position repairs and maintains machinery and electromechanical equipment in packaging, processing, distribution and plant infrastructure by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs maintenance work throughout the plant in order to repair production machines, fabricate parts, and rebuild equipment. Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment problems. Dismantles, repairs and reassembles complex equipment.
  • Operates production equipment to check work, as required. Cleans and lubricates equipment.
  • As needed, performs work in other areas such as building maintenance which includes but is not limited to: landscaping, snow removal, parking lot, sidewalks, traffic signs, monument sign, roof, roof screen, office, HVAC equipment, exterior windows, precast panels and other equipment installed on the exterior of the building.
  • Maintains and repairs office areas and assists with janitorial work as needed, including but not limited to: cleaning, office waste, recycling removal, lavatory and lunchroom supplies and installation.
  • Assists General Manager and Bloomingdale Engineering team in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches.
  • Completes routine paperwork as required. Initiates purchase order request forms for parts and supplies.
  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or two to five years related experience and/or training (electrical, machine shop, machine troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, lock-out/tag-out, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of electric, welding and machine shop required. Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively to coworkers and supervisors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Good problem solving skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Up to 10 lbs. from ground level and hold weight overhead; return weight to starting position.
  • Tighten and/or loosen a standard torque wrench up to 50 ft./lbs.
  • Up to 33 lbs. from 5 inches off ground and raise to 47 inches and then return 33 lbs. to original position.
  • Up to 60 lbs. from 31-inch shelf and 2-hand carry for up to 5 ft. and then return 60 lbs. to 31-inch surface.
