Job summary

Central Garden & Pet is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II to handle electrical and mechanical projects, troubleshoot equipment, and perform preventive maintenance across our facilities. The role runs Monday–Friday with the following shifts: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM.

This position requires knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as an industrial mechanic.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and schematics.
• Skill in applying building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.

• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.

Job description

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II will be responsible for handling the electrical and mechanical projects for our facilities including equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance. This position runs Monday - Friday, with the following shifts: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoots and repairs various manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Uses power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
• Install, set up, and tune new injection molding machines or similar plastic molding systems. May install and maintain fixtures and facilities.
• Services equipment used by oiling, greasing, and adding gas as required.
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred two or more years of experience as an industrial mechanic.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and schematics.
• Skill in applying building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Ability to work overtime with a flex schedule on the weekends.
• Requires some pushing, pulling, or lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.

POSITION INFORMATION

• This position pays $30.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience
