Job summary

Wonderful Citrus in Mission, Texas is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic II to service and repair machinery, HVAC systems, conveyors and production equipment throughout the facility.

You will perform preventive maintenance, welding, measurements, and troubleshooting, documenting work orders and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements include 1–3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, a high school diploma, good English communication, and basic arithmetic.

Qualifications

• One to three years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/food processing environment.
• Must communicate verbally and in writing in English. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions.
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and production machines per diagrams and manuals.
• Welds and fabricates parts; repairs equipment and facility infrastructure.
• Uses MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment as required.
• Inspects devices in operation and listens for trouble to locate issues.
• Measures parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges to verify dimensions.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and follows safety regulations.

Job Description

Overview:

Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, and HVAC/air conditioning systems such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, refrigeration units, ventilation systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties

Here\'s what you\'ll do:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer\'s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Performs welding, cutting, brazing, and metal fabrication repairs on machinery, equipment, conveyor systems, structural components, and facility infrastructure.
• Uses MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment to repair or fabricate parts as required.
• Observes mechanical devices and HVAC equipment in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
• Monitors refrigerant levels, checks for leaks, and performs refrigerant recovery and recharging in compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Documents all work completed on work orders per established procedures.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and environmental requirements related to HVAC and refrigerant handling.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes.
• Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control devices.

Qualifications
