Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialty or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in reel grinding, small engine repair, welding, electrical work, carpentry, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • High attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong safety awareness and compliance mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, tools, and mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and operational manuals.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with clubhouse maintenance and support cart mechanics with adjustments, repairs, and fabrications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including documentation of repairs, parts usage, and warranty work.
  • Manage equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt of materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment; ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements, safety procedures, and proper equipment use to team members.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support events and special maintenance requests.
  • Resolve escalated maintenance issues and perform advanced fabrications when standard troubleshooting is insufficient.
  • Train, direct, and evaluate the work of other Maintenance Mechanics as assigned.
  • Order equipment and supplies with management approval and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure warranty requirements are processed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain familiarity with and adhere to all safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement and support all American Golf initiatives and programs as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of onsite mechanical and electrical equipment. This role supports the safe, efficient operation of course and clubhouse facilities by maintaining equipment such as motors, compressors, carts, tools, and electrical systems. Working with limited supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic partners closely with the General Manager to identify maintenance needs, communicate equipment issues, and support planning and budgeting for upcoming repairs and capital expenses.
