Job summary

UFP Industries in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and tools and to assist the Maintenance Department with various machine and building repairs. The role requires hands-on work, adherence to safety procedures, and accurate maintenance records.

The position supports the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts, while ordering parts as needed and participating in safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.
• Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
• Assists in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts per manuals and specs.
• Orders supplies and parts as required.
• Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
• Adheres to safety rules and keeps work area clean and organized.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
