Thatcher Company in Henderson, NV seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment at our chemical manufacturing and distribution facility. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, and uphold safety and environmental standards.

The role requires 5+ years in general maintenance, familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems, and ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a general maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of electrical (PLC, HMI, instrumentation, control systems) and mechanical systems preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow technical drawings and plans.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
• Prior experience in chemical or Petro-chemical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete projects assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
• Maintain plant assets and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies; work in a team environment.

Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of equipment and facilities at our chemical manufacturing and distribution facility. Thatcher Company is committed to ensuring that our products are manufactured in a manner that provides value to customers while maintaining top safety and environmental standards. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, and maintaining a safe work environment in alignment these operational goals and objectives.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Complete projects assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
• Successfully maintain plant assets and mechanical systems minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment utilization and equipment life
• Ability to think on your feet and change direction at a moment’s notice
• Ability to own work processes and meet deadlines
• Successful history of working in a team environment
• Ability to work safely with strict adherence to established company policies, safety protocols, OSHA requirements and industry safety practices
• Good communication skills, demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions (verbal and written)
• Ability to understand, interpret and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.
• Ability to use hand tools and other chemical plant machinery safely (JLG, forklifts etc.)
• Ability to work safely in a variety of climates (hot/cold, dry/humid)

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with a high level of competency in a general maintenance environment
• Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the following order: Electrical (PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and general control systems), Mechanics (forklift repairs, boilers, water treatment systems), Rotating equipment (pumps and compressors), Piping Fitting (Steel, PVC) and Welding.
• Knowledge and competence of basic computer functions (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to understand, interpret and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.
• Read, write, and understand the English language.
• Prior experience in a chemical or Petro-chemical manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
