Job summary

The Department of the Navy is seeking skilled trades personnel to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a range of building systems and high-pressure piping within DoD facilities in California. You will work from plans and blueprints to lay out routing and elevation for piping systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities include testing electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems, maintaining pumps and valves, and performing repairs on pipes and fittings.

Qualifications

• Experience with building systems and major utilities.
• Ability to install, maintain and repair high-pressure piping and domestic heating equipment.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify and operate building systems and equipment.
• Install, modify and repair high-pressure piping systems and related equipment.
• Plan routing and layout of piping systems from plans and sketches.
• Repair utility, supply and disposal systems including water, sewage, gas and oil distribution.
• Test electric, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems with specialized equipment.
• Perform maintenance on motors, pumps and valves, including replacements and repacking.
